Dholak

Dholak is a kind of drum, used most often in folk music. With a body made of a single piece of wood, the instrument is double-sided with bass and treble heads. The materials used in its construction are tar, clay and sand. These elements help generate a well-defined tone while playing. Other musical forms such as Qawwali, Bhajan and Shabad utilize this instrument.
